After coming out with Resident Evil Village last year, Capcom confirmed that the remake of Resident Evil 4 is making its way to next-gen consoles on March 24, 2023. Remake, with a few good news for Resident Evil fans, will also share the content with PlayStation VR2, thus supporting the new generation Sony viewer. Resident Evil 4 was a revolutionary game when it came out in 2005. The new feature has an update that is similar to that that carried out with Resident Evil 2, while the 3st on PlayStation3. Resident Evil 4 is originally released on GameCube and later on PS2 and is a best-selling and best-loved game in the Resident Evil saga, with this new version Capcom wanted to bring a classic back to life with the technology and the gameplay more fluid. The supported platforms don’t include PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, Resident Evil 4 won’t also be released on the old-gen consoles of Sony and Microsoft and on the hybrid console of Kyoto. ![]() Resident Evil 4 isn’t Sony exclusive, but is not just on PS5, but also on Xbox, X & S and PCs both starting from the 24 March 2022. The new capcom game will only be released on PlayStation 5 or will it arrive on other platforms? Let’s be clear. Outside of loading, I don't see RE4 remake having it's design be any different whether it was fully current-gen only or not.The announcement of Resident Evil 4 Remake at the State of Play was certainly one of the most interesting surprises of the PlayStation show on June 2. I however do not believe those come just from making a game current-gen only. I want better games too, all those things you mentioned. Also wasn't trying to say your opinion is invalid, just that I find how impassioned the discourse often is to be a bit much. As mentioned, I think the standardization of SSDs will be the single biggest improvement to games being designed for current-gen only. I suspect we will have game design built around weaker CPUs even in current-gen only titles for quite a while. Yes, the CPUs are much better in the new systems, but game design trends will need to evolve in order to really make use of them and it remains to be seen how long that takes. An accompanying PlayStation Blog announcement makes no mention of other platforms other than PS5, and USSA News separatorsaThe Tea Party's Front. Raytracing is going to give us our next big jump in real time visuals, that alone is going to give us one of those big generational jumps, but the difference is current-gen versions of games are receiving these effects regardless of having last-gen versions. (Credit: Capcom)Capcom’s Resident Evil 4 remake isn’t a PS5 exclusive, despite a new gameplay trailer suggesting as much during Sony’s State of Play June 2022 event. It’s easy to see why you might think the RE4 remake is a PS5 exclusive. Outside of better performance, image quality and ray tracing yes, I don't think there's going to be a significant jump. I also found the jump between PS3 and PS4 to be significant, even if it seemed smaller than previous jumps. Nevertheless, in the end Capcom decided to show the world a parody of Spain instead.Ĭlick to shrink.I fail to see how I'm wrong on anything but a technical level, it seems like the word you're actually looking for is "disagree". Indeed, Resident Evil 4 had the potential to become a very unique masterpiece, at least for us. There is no other big AAA game that takes place in Spain, so a title as beloved and important to the history of the industry as Resident Evil 4 could have been a great opportunity to show the world the uniqueness of our culture, starting with recreating a true Andalusian white village, or maybe having the villagers speak Galician or Basque, depending on where exactly the village is supposed to be located, and perhaps even try to incorporate some of our own local folklore into the game? I always thought it's a shame that Capcom decided to portray my country the way they did. I'm so happy we're getting more Third Person Resident Evil! I just hope this Remake will be more like RE2R (which I love) than RE3R.Īnd I also hope this time Capcom will give us a real Spanish dub from Spain. I mean, I was already expecting FF XVI to show up, but this totally came out of nowhere! I think this was my favorite part of the SoP.
